Hi! I'm Jen, owner of SIT RUN PLAY. I've worked in the pet care industry for 15+ years and I’ve done just about everything. I started out working for a great company in San Francisco and fell in love with the job from day one. I’ve done private and group walks, poop scooping, pet taxi services and volunteered at a retirement home to help walk the house dog. I’ve worked at traditional daycare/boarding facilities, fostered dogs and helped out with rescues. *Fun fact— my very first word as a baby was “dog”(sorry mom and dad). So you could say this has been a lifelong passion! When I moved to Portland several years ago I knew I was ready to start my own business and so SIT RUN PLAY began. Taking care of dogs is something I truly love, and I treat every dog like they’re part of my family. And also, the dogs are hilarious and I have fun every day. I love being outside doing the walks, and we love having the dogs stay with us for boarding and daycare. They are always in the best of hands.

“Finding Jen has been an absolute miracle for our Havanese—who has major separation anxiety. My husband and I travel a fair amount, and have left our pup with Jen on many occasions over the last year. He always comes home happy and completely normal which is a HUGE deal for an anxious and easily traumatized dog. We know he gets lots of love and exercise/socialization while we are away and that makes leaving so much easier. Jen is very reliable, responsive by email or text, and flexible with pick up and drop off. To me and my husband, there is definitely a difference between a dog lover and someone who understands dogs. Affection is important but so is understanding the exercise, discipline, and socialization side of being a dog owner. Jen understands dogs on top of being a warm and kind human being.
